Devised Music Theatre Workshop for Teenagers (9th Grade – 12th Grade), Our Own “Voice”!, National Theatre of Greece

Musical collaborator (teaching and preparation of materials) for the educational-artistic project ‘Melisma’, part of the Greek National Opera’s Learning and Participation program – with the residents of the fire stricken areas of Nort hern Evoia (following the forest fires of 2021).

“Rhythmlogue”, a musical workshop focused on rhythm in combination with the use of technology. Targeted at the 3rd and 4th grades of elementary school. Held at the Pedagogiki- Birds School in Piraeus (duration one month).

Online presentation of the opera “A Cloud in Love” (written for children and young people) to students of the Music Department of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), USA.

2020

“Let’s create our own musical composition!”, a week-long creative workshop for all elementary school grades, organized and delivered for the Greek-language section of the European School, Brussels, 3.

2019

“From musical setting to sound environment”, a 3-day workshops addressing a wide range of different groups, from kindergarten through to high school and adults. Held as part of the 10th School Poetry Festival on the island of Kos

2015-2016

Commission from the Onassis  Foundation’s cultural organization Stegi  to develop the educational program “Music and Nutrition”, in collaboration with the Prolepsis Institute. Original music composition, performance and piano by Sofia Kamayianni, with Filandros Karras (clarinet). Based around extensive school visits (Kindergarten to 4th Grade), featuring improvised musical instruments (DIY) and exploring rhythm, speech, and movement.

2014-2015

“Reading the 20th-Century Musical Score”, an educational program commissioned by the Onassis Stegi. In collaboration with the ensemble Artefacts, responsible for the design and facilitation of an interactive program focused on 20th-century music, with special emphasis on the concept of rhythm. Prior to a final educational concert in Stegi, extensive school visits (Grades 1–4) and experiential hands-on workshops exploring rhythm, speech, and technology.

2011-2013

“Exploring the 20th Century”, an educational program commissioned by the Onassis Stegi. An interactive program exploring 20th-century music, from Ligeti to the Beatles in collaboration with the Αthens Camerata/Armonia Atenea. Εducational concert (Grades 1–4) hosted at Onassis Stegi. The children also created stories inspired by a modular composition by Sofia Kamayianni, in collaboration with their teachers

2011

“Release Your Musical Expression” – experiential workshop, in collaboration with Evi Syrou (cognitive psychologist). The musical part focused on rhythm, improvisation, and creating a personal composition. (Polychoros Anatasi, Patras and Kerameikos, Athens, 2010)

“Rhythm and Musical Expression” – experiential workshop for educators, lasting three months (Patras, hosted at Rodi Kindergarten)

“I Play, I Listen, I Create” – one-day open seminar by the Spiza Artistic Society, under the general title “Forms of Musical Expression

2005-2009

Responsible for the musical education programs of Greek National Radio and Television (ERT). During school visits to ERT, she facilitated interactive music programs (with repertoire selected in collaboration with the musicians), including analysis and practical work on rhythm, melody, orchestration and composition.

2000-2001

Seminar series at Lithografeio Theatre, Patras, focusing on rhythm, singing, movement, and expression. Duration: one year.

2000-2001

Musical collaborator at the Patras Municipal and Regional Theatre (ΔΗΠΕΘΕ Patras), providing music instruction for productions and leading year-long music-theatre seminar cycles focused on rhythm, singing, movement, and expression.

Since 2013, she has been responsible for the choir training and conducting of the amateur choir of the “Agg. Sikelianos” Cultural Αssociation in Ilioupoli, where she also teaches a class called “Music Expression” aimed at adults.

Other collaborations include teaching rhythmology at the Opera Studio of ΔΗΠΕΘΕ Patras, teaching music composition in the Carl Orff music and movement program at Moraitis School (part of a three-year professional training course) and teaching in the therapeutic music program of the “Argo” Foundation for children with special needs (a year-long program).

Early in her career, she taught in the specialist music school sector (Patras Music School) and led the preparatory section of the Amaliada Music School (children aged 4–9).
